Overview on Keyword stuffing vs Keyword placing
In this article, we will discuss on Keyword stuffing vs Keyword placing.
The keyword plays a very important role in SEO and helps the search engine to understand your content as well. Back in times when search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc. were just introduced, it was very easy and effectual to stuff your targeted keyword and rank.
By doing this, people used to manipulate search results. But with time search engines also worked hard and developed algorithms to identify such poor content.
Now by the time I am writing this article keyword stuffing is a great way to get penalized from search engines. So you need to understand the difference between keyword stuffing and proper keyword placement.
Keyword stuffing and it’s problems
For a business, the most important thing is user experience. Similarly, Google is also emphasizing to provide the best experience for their users.
That is why Google doesn’t even take a minute to penalize you when they find you stuffing keywords. This became possible after Google introduced the “Panda” algorithm update in 2011.
By this update, keyword stuffing became an illegal and black hat practice in SEO.
I am not saying that if Google doesn’t like this practice then no one is doing it. If you also try it, you may also get success initially but in the long run search engines will surely backlist you.
Okay so let’s not think from the perspective of Google let’s think like a publisher.
For a moment assume that somehow you managed to fool Google’s algorithms and get in top search results.
But if somebody clicks and lands on your website, they are not going to stay there even for a minute. Ultimately you will not be able to make anything out of it.
As you can see in the above example density of a keyword is 14% (there are 42 words in the paragraph and the keyword is appearing 3 times). The percentage of the keyword is more than suggested. There are no exact for the density of keyword but there is 2% density of a keyword is recommended by the experts.
Placing Keyword Responsibly- Doing Your Part
Why I have mentioned this heading as doing your part? I have done so because placing keyword properly is one of the many strategies in On-Page optimization.
Sometimes it happens that even if we have done everything perfect as per your knowledge,
Still, you will don’t get desired results.
It is totally up to Google when it comes to ranking content on it. We just have to keep in mind some fundamentals of this search engine and pan our content strategy according to it.
Google has never mentioned anything such as its fundamentals but since I am working in this field for past several I have figured out some.
1. The user is the king. Provide the Best user experience.
2. Google hates flimflam.
These two are the most important things which you should always keep in mind when it comes to keyword placement.
So let’s discuss the first point that is user experience. As I have mentioned previously that Google gives weightage to the content written for humans.
Yes, people do all the spammy activities and write keyword-stuffed content just to fool bots. Here our second point can also be explained that if you try these poor activities then indirectly your are challenging Google and trying to fool them.
And these kinds of challenges are never liked by Google. So focus on humans rather than bots to create your content and provide a better user experience.
Things to do and HOW
So now you know everything that you shouldn’t do to avoid Keyword placement blunders.
But what are the things that you can do and how to do them properly? The following paragraphs have answers to that.
Use matching keywords
The best way to maintain the quality of your content is to use the synonyms of your targeted keyword. In this way, you can include the keyword in your content without making it look spammy.
Suppose if you have a website related to fitness and you are writing an article on ‘best exercises for weight loss’. Now you have to find some synonyms for this particular keyphrase.
Some synonyms can be like ‘exercises that help you to lose weight’, ‘best exercises for losing weight’, ‘best weight loss exercises’ etc.
Here you can see that you just have changed the sentence but the meaning remains the same. It is still clearly reflecting your topic.
Keyword density is the most important thing for placing the keyword correctly. This topic keyword stuffing vs Keyword placement is around one basic question. What should be a safe keyword density?
Marketers have different opinions on that some say that it should 1.5% some say that it should be 2% at least.
But according to me, 1-1.5% is sufficient and best working keyword density standard.
Suppose if you are writing an article of 2000 words then your targeted keyword must be present there for at least 15-20 times.
The keyword can be included as exact match keywords and synonyms. Your keyword must be included in the title of your webpage, in the URL of the page and also in at least one of the headings of the article.
These all the above-mentioned ways are tried by me and the safest available in the market. So you can give them a try for sure. To leverage your marketing skills
